Employer Services

Employment support that goes beyond a helpline.

Aubrey International supports employers with the day-to-day people issues, formal processes and difficult decisions that can become expensive when they are handled too late. We combine practical employment support, careful documentation and hands-on case management around the way your business actually operates.

For SMEs and growing employers

Senior-led support without building an internal HR department.

For many businesses, the problem is not knowing that an employment issue exists. It is knowing what to do next, what to write, what process to follow and how to keep the position defensible while still running the business.

Aubrey can stay alongside the employer from the first concern through to the practical outcome. Where a matter requires reserved legal work, formal representation or jurisdiction-specific regulated advice, that element is handled within the appropriate professional framework.

Employment lifecycle

Support from hiring through to exit.

The service is organised around the situations employers actually face, rather than expecting managers to identify the legal category before asking for help.

01

Hiring & onboarding

Offers, contracts, probation, onboarding documents, policies, recruitment processes and right-to-work process guidance.

02

Managing employees

Performance, conduct, sickness absence, capability, flexible working, family leave, reasonable adjustments, attendance and workplace relationships.

03

When things go wrong

Grievances, disciplinary issues, allegations, evidence review, investigation planning, meeting preparation, workplace conflict and urgent process support.

04

Changing the business

Restructuring, redundancy planning, changes to terms, reorganisations, workforce changes and practical TUPE support where appropriate.

05

Ending employment

Dismissal-risk assessment, probationary termination, negotiated exits, redundancy, settlement strategy, references and post-termination issues.

06

Keeping the framework current

Contracts, handbooks, policy reviews, standard letters, employment documentation and updates when material changes affect the employer.

Retained support

Choose the level of involvement your business needs.

Retainers are scoped around employee headcount, the support level selected and the complexity of the workforce. Exact pricing is provided after an initial discussion.

Employment documentation

Documents designed around the way the business works.

A policy library is useful only if managers can apply it. We can create, review and maintain practical documents rather than leaving employers with a generic pack that does not reflect their operation.

Core framework

Contracts, handbook & standard processes

  • Employment contracts and variations.
  • Disciplinary and grievance documentation.
  • Absence, capability and performance processes.
  • Probation, flexible working and family-leave documents.
  • Recruitment, equal opportunities and whistleblowing.
  • Confidentiality, IT, communications and data-handling policies.
Modern workplace

Policies for the issues employers are now managing.

  • Remote and hybrid working.
  • Social media, workplace messaging and WhatsApp.
  • Artificial intelligence and acceptable use.
  • Menopause, fertility treatment and pregnancy loss.
  • Carers, domestic abuse and compassionate leave.
  • Neurodiversity, lone working and other bespoke workplace needs.
Standalone review

Employer Employment Risk Review

A fixed-scope review for an employer that wants to understand where its current employment framework is exposed before committing to ongoing support.

We review the agreed areas and provide a prioritised action plan using a simple risk framework.

  • Contracts, handbook and policies.
  • Employee records and working arrangements.
  • Holiday, pay and absence practices.
  • Current grievances, disciplinaries or disputes.
  • Performance and capability management.
  • Equality and reasonable-adjustment processes.

Formal processes

Practical support when the matter becomes difficult.

Aubrey can provide more active assistance where an employer needs help organising evidence, planning meetings and maintaining a coherent process.

Investigations

Workplace investigation support

Scoping the issues, evidence organisation, interview planning, question preparation, chronology building, report support and independent investigation projects where separately agreed.

Disciplinary & grievance

From allegation to outcome

Process planning, correspondence, manager preparation, hearing questions, evidence review, outcome documentation and appeal preparation.

Exit & restructure

Managing higher-risk decisions

Dismissal-risk assessment, redundancy and restructure support, negotiated exits, settlement strategy and practical preparation before escalation.

Work normally scoped separately

Substantial independent workplace investigations, major redundancy programmes, complex TUPE projects, large-scale restructures, settlement agreements, ACAS Early Conciliation, Employment Tribunal proceedings, litigation, injunctions and unusually complex or document-heavy matters are not automatically included within a retained package. Where Aubrey can assist, these are separately scoped and quoted, with appropriate regulated professional involvement where required.
