Fixed Fee Policy
Aubrey International aims to provide transparent and cost-effective business, family, document and private-client support. Fixed fees are used where the work can be scoped clearly enough to give the client predictability.
How Fixed Fees Work
Fixed fees are usually based on the average time required for comparable work, the complexity of the instruction, urgency, document volume and the level of responsibility required.
A fixed fee gives the client clarity, but it depends on the agreed scope remaining accurate. If the matter expands, the facts change, urgent work is required, or additional documents are introduced, a further fee may be needed.
Shared Risk
In some fixed-fee matters the actual time may exceed the estimate, creating a risk for Aubrey International. Conversely, some matters conclude more quickly, giving the client certainty and value.
Choice of Fee Basis
Clients may request fixed-fee, staged-fee or hourly support where appropriate. The suitable structure depends on the matter, urgency and degree of uncertainty.
Charging in Units
Where hourly charging is used, time may be recorded in units, commonly six-minute blocks. This allows detailed recording of the work carried out and clearer billing.
Hourly Rates and Written Quotes
Rates vary depending on the type of work, the person carrying it out, jurisdiction, urgency and specialist input required. Current rates and any third-party professional fees will be confirmed in writing before work begins wherever possible.
